Delapa Yoga are:
The traditional form of yoga taught by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India.
DelapanYoga is designed to reveal the full depth of yoga. It is a systematic step-by-step disclosure of consciousness without neglecting areas of the weak or serving the strong. This approach, which is called vinyasa, means sequential. It is a form of balance, and produces tremendous strength, flexibility, and clarity of mind.
DelapanYoga formal method uses two methods of practice;
Mysore and Led
Mysore style is a traditional method in which students practice together in the same room, at their own pace, with guidance from the teacher as needed. The poses are taught in stages based on the capacities and needs of each student, with an emphasis on correct breathing, asanas, and drishti.
On the first day, new students are guided through a series of basic poses or called in Sanskrit "Surya Namaskara" (sun salutations). then the closing sequence.
Students will be thoroughly guided on breath synchronization and proper movement, posture, and point of view. The sequence will be repeated several times until the students can sort it out themselves. In subsequent exercises, students will perform the sequence they were taught, and be given additional postures to practice on.
Mysore class is basically a self-training class where students move through a sequence slowly, at their own pace, individually supervised and assisted by a teacher. Think of it as a private session, where you get personalized instruction, but with the energy of a class group.
Mysore Class is for everyone. experienced and for beginners. No prior yoga experience is required. There is a saying of wisdom
"Empty your glass when you meet other people". Then you will start learning new things.
The led classes reinforce the precise vinyasa system you learn in Mysore classes - when to inhale and when to exhale as you enter and exit each asana. Following the teacher's steps and counts in leading the class instills discipline and helps build students' mental and physical strength. The led class is a very important compliment to regular Mysore workouts,
Purpose of practice
Delapanyoga could be for purely physical use, or more as a mirror tool for learning about yourself and how you interact with the world each time you step onto the mat. It is used in training the body, breath, and intelligence to join together harmoniously without distortion or unresolved aspects of the mind that might create a false sense of self. When the vinyasa is perfect, the mind is under control.
-Sri K. Pattabhi Jois-
When body, breath and mind are perfectly united, spontaneous samadhi takes place.
DelapanYoga pays attention to alignment or harmonization to carry out postures safely with deep inner awareness. This adds a therapeutic aspect to yoga where one can learn to heal oneself; help repair previous injuries, repair emotional wounds or just maintain a healthy body and mind.
The dynamic DelapanYoga method involves synchronizing the breath with a series of progressive postures, a process of generating intense internal heat and purifying sweat to detoxify muscles and organs. The result is better circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm, focused mind. DelapanYoga system places equal emphasis on strength, flexibility and stamina. Through regular practice of DelapanYoga postures, personal insights are beginning to manifest. We become aware of what we put into our bodies and how we interact with the world around us; cultivate our ability to fully concentrate and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. If one dedicates oneself to this practice, it changes that person's life, increasing closeness to oneself.
Very good and a handle in everyday life (in life) If you have memorized the sequence
We can practice alone and anywhere. "Mens ada in corpore sano", In a healthy body there is a strong soul. "Body is not stiff, mind is stiff"
- Sri K. Pattabhi Jois-
